Andrea Carska-Sheppard is an internationally recognized lawyer with bar admission in four different countries. She provides legal advice and arbitration solutions to some of the world's most successful and accomplished sports people and organizations around the world. She is an advocate for equal opportunities for women ins sports and works to prevent harassment and abuse.

Sports Law Solutions® and Belveders® are global initiatives in the area of sports law and arbitration designed to help organizations, businesses and individuals in sports to foster leadership and find legal and practical solutions to situations which may adversely affect growth, reputation or value and enhance the Global Culture of Wellbeing in sports.

Meet Andrea

Andrea Carska-Sheppard is the Founder of Carska Legal Services LLC and its initiatives Sports Law Solutions® and Belveders.® She has been engaged in sports from a young age and in international sports for the last 20 years. She developed her interest in sports law and international comparative law when working as a research assistant for Professor Paul Weiler at the Harvard Law School. Since 2013 she has been working as the General Counsel on corporate matters for a global company whose primary focus is enhancing employees’ wellbeing. The company (the largest integrated corporate wellbeing company in the world) is operating across 200 countries and territories and serving 51% of Forbes Fortune 500 companies. 

She serves or is associated with the professional, business and sports organizations and sits on their executive boards and commissions.

As the Commission member she advised global boards such as the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on policies related to gender equality as a member of the IOC Commission for Women in Sports (2012-2019), the media policy for the IOC Olympic Channel Commission (2020-2022) and as a member of the IOC Digital Communications and Marketing Commission. 

Following are some of Andrea’s meritorious positions she held:

  • Organization for Women for International Trade (OWIT) Triangle Chapter.

  • Serves as the Corporate Secretary of the British American Business Council (BABC-NC).

  • Former Board of Directors member of the Canadian Business Association of North Carolina.

  • Current member of the Executive Board of the International Section of the New York State Bar Association.

  • She’s also a Board Member of the Women in Sports International (WSI), a global non-profit organization founded in 1994 for promoting women and girls in sport. WSI is based in State of Delaware and is newly appointed as the board member of the Al Oerter Foundation.

Being multilingual, trained in diplomacy in Paris and daily working in global business environment allows her to expertly cross and integrate herself among diverse cultures. Licensed lawyer in four countries and member of some of the most prestigious bars (a rare accomplishment in the field) she works globally in international commercial law, sports law and arbitration and through the network of attorneys and consultants around the world provides leadership and solutions to organization and business in sports.
